|Jessica’s Wolves released December, 24, 2012. A re-edited updated version released January 6, 2015, with Hartwood Publishing.
Jessica Murphy has been living a lie. A childhood trauma has caused her to deny her true self, and she has no intention of ever revealing who she really is. As a first-year teacher making her way in life, the last thing she expects or desires is for two hunky men to walk into her school and insist she is their mate.
Charles Masters has been sowing his wild oats in Texas with his best friend, Reese Becker. When the two return home to Oregon for the holidays, they arrive with a young woman in tow who carries her own bundle of secrets. Caught between two females, Reese and Charles must juggle the woman they are destined to claim and the promises they’ve made to the desperate younger female wolf.
A complex web of secrecy and denial unfolds as Jessica accepts her mates … and herself. Will the mysterious past uniting Jessica to her new extended family prove to be more than she is willing to handle?
This was not in the plan, damn it.
His deep blue gaze burrowed into her until she couldn’t avoid meeting it. “We need you.” His voice was suddenly much deeper, hoarse, as though he’d spent the last several hours screaming at a football game.
Jessica shook her head. “I know, but I can’t do this.”
“Why?” Charles’ words were just as low. He came from the side and settled his head next to hers. “Why are you fighting it? It’s a natural process.”
When Reese took her lips in a gentle kiss, her brain went numb. He kissed her over and over again: her lips, her chin, her cheeks, her eyelids. No inch of her face was missed by the soft brush of his lips.
Breathing him in was unavoidable; his essence filled all the air in front of her nose. Even when she sucked oxygen into her lungs through her mouth, she could still taste him.
Her abdomen clenched again. The sensation was intense with both men crowding her space. Not a pain exactly, more of a longing. She was desperate to be filled by these men.
Reese moved on to her ear, leaving her direct line of sight, which was quickly filled by Charles. The new set of eyes was a deep chocolate, and they flicked back and forth between her own. “Relax. Let it happen.” His lips barely moved as he spoke. And before she could respond, his lips devoured her with much more force than Reese’s had.
Both men flung a leg over hers and pulled hers apart. Even with her jeans on, she had a sense of vulnerability.
“You smell fantastic. I need to see you.” Charles reached for the hem of her shirt, and before she could react he’d pushed the sweater up her chest, exposing her bra.
Reese laid his palm over her belly and kneaded the soft skin. He clearly had a thing for her belly. His fingers were forever dancing across her middle.
A wave of lust grabbed her again, and in reflex, Jessica grabbed both men around their arms. Her knees bucked with the need to fold at the middle while she rode out the achy feeling.
Reese pressed his palm into her. “I’m sorry, love. I know it must be uncomfortable.”
He’d asked her that earlier, and she’d dismissed it. What the hell? “How do you know what I’m feeling? I don’t understand.”
“You’re ovulating. The mating urge wouldn’t be as intense if you weren’t. It’s only a few days each month, but when that coincides with being claimed, I’ve heard it’s almost overwhelming for the female.” Charles breathed into her ear as he spoke, sending a chill down her spine.
“How the hell do you know I’m ovulating?”
“We can smell it, babe. As soon as you walked in the house today, we knew. That’s why you can’t resist us, even worse than yesterday, right?”
True, but weird. “Does everybody know?”
Reese chuckled. “No, just us. Well, Nancy probably knows, but only because she’s so intuitive. No one but us can smell it on you, and that’s because our bodies have already aligned themselves to claim you.”
Well, at least there was that. Jess was struggling to think. The lucid moments she had in between lusting after two wolves and holding her breath through the waves of her clenching female parts were growing fewer and further apart.
She squeezed both men’s biceps where she held them and turned her head to the side for a deep breath.
Charles pushed her sweater farther, and in a frenzy of movement, both men worked together to jerk the soft material over her head. She was left lying beneath them with only the lacey material of her bra to cover her heaving chest. Seconds after that, both men flung their T-shirts away, leaving two glorious expanses of chest to fill Jessica’s vision.
Jessica pressed into the mattress with her heels and inched backward on the bed. She swallowed numerous times. “I don’t…” Her voice faltered. It squeaked. She didn’t recognize it as her own. “I’ve never…” The words wouldn’t come out.
“Slept with a wolf?” Reese provided. “Good. I like that. You never will either. I mean other than us.” He grinned, all proud of himself, as he climbed like a predator on all fours toward her. He popped the button on her jeans before she could even blink, and both he and Charles each grabbed a leg of denim to tug them off.
“No. You don’t understand. Stop.”
Both men froze. It was too late to keep her jeans on. They were long gone. History. But these guys had the decency to halt when they heard the word “no” at least.
All three heaved deep breaths. Jessica bit her lip and glanced at her nearly naked body. Clad only in a matching bra and panty set that had less use in a functional sense than sex appeal, she shivered, clambered back against the headboard, and drew her knees to her chin. She wasn’t cold. She was scared.
“Talk to us.” Charles wrapped an arm loosely around her and then pulled it back like she’d burned him.
Jessica whipped her head his way and stared into his eyes. “What?”
His gaze narrowed, and his lids lowered in apology. “I need you so bad. Worse than anything I’ve ever experienced in my life.” He let his gaze roam her body, the ball of it anyway, from top to bottom and back. “Your skin is so perfect. Soft. Creamy. And … when I touch you, I’m afraid I won’t be able to control myself.”
Reese sat across from her and wrapped a hand around her ankle. “Even her dainty legs are sexy.” He looked back up. “What don’t we understand?”
“I’ve never slept with anyone. Wolf or otherwise,” she barely mumbled, keeping her head high.
“Oh.” Reese stiffened, his fingers tightening around her shin. He breathed faster, and his mouth opened to say something else, but no words came out.
“Fuck.” Charles ran a hand through his hair.
“Well, God. I didn’t expect either of you to be mad about it.” Jessica tugged on her ankle, anxious to pull away. His fingers were burning a line up her leg straight to her sex.
Reese jerked back, pulling her leg in his direction until he’d dislodged her from the tight ball she’d retreated into. When her knee popped out from the cocoon of her arms, he pulled her flat. His gaze drilled into hers from very close. “Oh, honey, you so misunderstand. That is the single sexiest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. It makes us want you even more, and I feel so privileged to be your first and last; well, except for Charles.”
“My dick was hard, babe. But you just about made me bust the seams of my jeans.” Charles pulled on her leg still bent at the knee until it lay flat.
A strange squeal escaped Jessica’s mouth. Both men inched their fingers up her legs, one on each side. Climbing far too close to the apex. But both gazes were on her face. Testing the waters.
Her body screamed for them to take her: fast, hard, and now. Her mind, hanging on by a thread, demanded she not let them claim her. “I’m not a virgin because of some misplaced moral obligation. I’m a virgin because I never want to shift.”
“Shift? Into wolf form?” Charles questioned.
She nodded. “I assume as long as I don’t let anyone claim me, I never have to shift. I don’t want to.” At least I thought I didn’t want to until you two caressed circles on my thighs.
“But you never slept with a human either?” Reese brushed a lock of hair from her face, the gesture not helping with her inner turmoil one bit.
“I … I didn’t know for sure if … it counted. I was ten. My lupine sex education extends only to what a mother would have told a ten-year-old.”
Charles used his least condescending voice to respond. “Well, no. You wouldn’t shift just because you slept with a human. It would have to be a wolf. But, I, for one, am not sorry you misunderstood that. Your being a virgin is so incredibly sexy and arousing. However, just so you’re clear, you don’t have to shift just because we have sex either. True, you actually can’t shift until you’re with a wolf, but there is no law of nature that insists you shift after we mate. Of course, we want to run with you, enjoy you in wolf form, but we would never pressure you into it. You can take your time acclimating to the idea … and your new life.”
“I want to hear about your childhood when you’re ready, love,” Reese stated. “Obviously something rather traumatic must have happened to you as a child to put that fear in your eyes. What can we do to alleviate your anxiety? Why don’t you want to shift? It’s the most freeing thing in the world. You’re going to love it.”
For twenty-two years Jessica had lived in fear of this very moment. “Can we talk about this some other time? I just don’t want to.” Never ever did she want to be a wolf and suffer like her parents had. However, what she hadn’t counted on was the physiological aspect of mating: how she’d be so drawn to literally fuck someone, or in this case, two someones, she wouldn’t even be able to control the urge.
Her inner wolf growled to be let out. Now. And no amount of reasoning was going to stop it. Fate must have had much bigger plans for her than her imagined fears, or it wouldn’t have placed these two men in her path yesterday. “How does this work … exactly?” She couldn’t fight the urge—need, really—anymore. But that didn’t cause her fear and ignorance to evaporate.
“The claiming?” Charles squeezed her thigh, his fingers applying enough pressure to make her gasp.
She nodded. “What will you do? Take turns? I mean, how do we become actual mates? You each fuck me, and then that’s it?”
Reese nearly choked, and she twisted her head his way, shooting him a warning glare.
“Sorry, love.” He leaned in to kiss her lightly on the lips and then proceeded. “First of all, we are not going to ‘fuck’ you. That sounds so crass, as though you won’t enjoy it at all, and that is far from the case. When we make love with you, we want there to be fireworks. For you, love,” he amended. “And no, claiming you isn’t quite that simple since there are three of us. When there are two, yes. They have sex; they both come. And presto, they are mated.
“In our case, in order for the mating to be complete, we all three have to have sex at once, orgasm together.”
“At the same time?” How the hell is that possible?
Charles took over. “One of us has to be in your pussy while the other is in your sweet ass, babe. There’s no way to sugarcoat it.”
Her eyes grew wide. “Oh, ohh.” Why the hell did that make her even hornier? Damn hormones. She tensed and squeezed her butt cheeks together as if that could keep this all from happening. Her head shook back and forth anyway. “I couldn’t…”
“Relax.” Reese rubbed a hand up her arm, the one covered with goose bumps all over again. “We can ease into that. There is no law of nature that says we must complete the claiming right this second either. Just let us love you, hon. I know this is a lot to take in all at once, and you’re so innocent, but we can smell your arousal. It’s permeating the entire room and driving us insane. Let us make love to you. We won’t penetrate your tight little bud this time. We can deal with that part later.”
With her clit throbbing against her soaking panties, her nipples rasping over the lace of her bra, and her gut clenching, Jessica sank into the comfort of the bed and released a long sigh. “Okay,” she managed to whisper.
Reese raised his eyebrows. “You sure?”
“Say it, baby. Tell us,” Charles urged.
“Please…” Her head rolled back and forth. Since she’d given in to the need for release, a marathon of epic proportions raced through her bloodstream. She ached, not just in her belly now but also all over her body. And the only way to alleviate the agitated state she was in would be to have these two sexy men devour her, touch her everywhere, fuck her into oblivion. She needed them. Needed to be touched on every inch of her body to alleviate the ache. And what was even more disconcerting—she wanted them. Wanted them to take her like she’d never wanted anything in her life.
“Please what?” Charles leaned in closer. Reese followed. “Say it out loud, baby. I don’t want there to be any mistake here. What do you want us to do?”
“Fuck me.” Jessica gasped. Had she actually said that out loud? Emboldened now, she continued. “Please. I need you to touch me, everywhere. I can’t relax. I can’t even sit still until you take the edge off. My body burns for the pressure of yours. My skin is crawling.”
